Moffitt, USF to Offer Free Tobacco Cessation Class

Want to quit smoking? Here’s an easy way to take the first step.

From Moffitt Cancer Center:

Moffitt Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center based in Florida, and the University of South Florida’s Area Health Education Center are offering a free tobacco cessation class for the public.

“Tools to Quit” is designed to help smokers successfully quit. Participants will create individually tailored quit plans, learn strategies to deal with cravings, and develop effective coping methods for physical and emotional stress. All pre-registered attendees will receive four weeks of free nicotine patches.

The class will meet Sept. 19, 2-4 p.m., at Owl’s Den, Moffitt’s Muriel Rothman (Clinic) Building, 12902 Magnolia Drive. Park at Gold Valet.
