There was a big crowd at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s on Tuesday night, according to the City of Temple Terrace, as Mayor Frank Chillura presented a proclamation declaring Louis “Skip” Holtz Day in Temple Terrace.

The announcement was made just as Holtz was about to begin his last sports radio show of the season on 98.7 FM The Fan at the restaurant. City Council members David Pogorilich and Grant Rimbey also stopped by to say hello to the University of South Florida football coach.

For months, Holtz has hosted his radio show at the Temple Terrace Beef’s.

“Temple Terrace has a great partnership with the University of South Florida, and we’re proud that Coach Holtz chose our community as the home of his radio show,” Chillura said in a city press release. “Go Bulls!”

Holtz is finishing up his third season as head football coach of the USF Bulls. Before coming to USF in 2010, he had head coaching jobs at East Carolina University and the University of Connecticut. His father is famed college football coach Lou Holtz.

Have heard previous comments were removed from this section? Holtz should have been thanked before the season started, not after a 3-8(3-9) season.
