Man Fatally Shot at Village Oaks Apartments
The Tampa Bay Times is reporting Jobree Platt was killed Tuesday morning.
Jobree Platt, 31, was shot dead Tuesday morning at the Village Oaks Apartments, according to a story posted on the Tampa Bay Times website.
Platt, who was staying with several cousins, was coming back to an apartment with one of the cousins when a man in black clothes and a ski mask confronted them, the Times reported.
The man shot at Platt once, according to the Times story. The cousin was unharmed.
It is unclear whether the man was targeting the cousins or just trying to rob them, the Times reported.
The Village Oaks apartment complex was targeted earlier this summer in a series of auto burglaries. Violent crimes, however, have not been reported there in recent months.
City officials were not immediately available for comment.
