Local Schoolkids to Get a Glimpse of Career Paths
Great American Teach-In brings elected officials, CEOs, chefs and more into classrooms.
Temple Terrace Mayor Joe Affronti, Hillsborough County Commissioner Victor Crist, and a Busch Gardens representative are three of several speakers who will be visiting Temple Terrace schools Thursday for the Great American Teach-In.
The annual event, presented by SERVE, the volunteer arm of the Hillsborough County School District, will bring professionals and hobbyists into the classroom to demonstrate the benefits of a good education, according to a school district press release. This year’s volunteer speakers include active members and veterans of the United States armed Forces, police, firefighters, paramedics, animal trainers, attorneys, politicians and more.
Students will learn what it’s like to work in these career fields.
According to the school district, participating schools and speakers in the Temple Terrace area include:
