City of Temple Terrace government offices are closing Dec. 24 and 25, and Jan. 1, and the city has announced its holiday trash and recycling schedule for the rest of the year.
There will be no residential garbage collection on Christmas and New Year’s Day; however, Dec. 24 and 31 will be regular collection days, the Public Works Department has announced in a city press release. Here’s what you can expect, according to the release.
Because Christmas and New Year’s Day fall on consecutive Tuesdays, there will be a special Holiday Recycling Schedule for residences scheduled for Tuesday green-bin pickup. This will provide an enhanced level of service for homes impacted by an increase in recyclable materials generated by the holidays, said Public Works Deputy Director Ray LeBlanc.
- Green-bin pickup scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 25 will take place Friday, Dec. 28, along with regular Friday trash pickup.
- Green-bin pickup scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 1 will take place Friday, Jan. 4, along with regular Friday trash pickup.
Commercial solid waste collection scheduled for Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 will be collected on Dec. 24 and 31, respectively.
The holiday, after-hours emergency number for Public Works is 813-506-6590.
The Temple Terrace Public Works Department also will be collecting Christmas trees for recycling. Trees can be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on any Wednesday for pickup during the regular Wednesday residential yard-waste recycling routes. If you have any questions about Christmas tree or yard-waste pickup, or the Holiday Recycling Schedule, call Public Works at 813-506-6570.
City Government Offices
Temple Terrace City Hall and other government offices will be closed Dec. 24 and 25, and Jan. 1 for the holidays. The Temple Terrace Public Library, Family Recreation Complex and Lightfoot Recreation Center will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31.
