Members of the Temple Terrace Fire Department participated in the I Will Inspire 5K Run on Feb. 18.

The inaugural 5K Run and 1-Mile Fun Run were hosted by the GFWC New Tampa Junior Woman’s Club and took place at Telecom Park.

The event benefited Matt Long, a New York City firefighter who was run over by a bus in Manhattan while riding his bike to work in 2005, and Marine Lt. Col. Ty Edwards, who was left paralyzed and unable to speak after being shot in the head in Afghanistan.
