Dunkin’ Donuts Denied 'Best Coffee' Slogan

The eatery wanted to trademark the phrase “Best Coffee in America.” The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office said no. Do you agree with Dunkin’ or is there better coffee to be had right here in Temple Terrace?

Drive around Temple Terrace and it is evident there are plenty of places to get a hot cup of Joe. But who has the best?

Dunkin’ Donuts tried to stake the claim that its brew was the finest in America. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, however, just didn’t agree, according to The Boston Globe.

“Anyone at all can claim that their coffee is the ‘Best Coffee in America,’ ” trademark attorney Zick Rubin is quoted by the Globe as saying. “No one takes such a claim literally, and no one company can monopolize the phrase.”

Do you agree with Dunkin Donuts’ claim or do you think there’s better coffee to be had in Temple Terrace? Tell us who has your favorite piping hot cup of Joe in the area by commenting below.

I usually notice bad coffee more than I notice good coffee. I assume coffee should be good.

The Belleview Biltmore in Clearwater (God rest it's wooden soul) had the best cup of coffee that I ever tasted. I was so looking forward to returning when it re-opened and have a cup of that magnificent coffee.
