Crime Report: Thieves Target Homes, Cars, Yards

Feb. 25, 2012
9800 block of Morris Glen Way
A woman gave a man who said he was an employee of Lokey Motors, $5,000 to buy a vehicle for her, according to Temple Terrace Police Community Service Officer Tracy Mishler.
The woman has tried to contact the man several times, but he has not given her the vehicle, Mishler said. The woman later learned that the man has not worked for Lokey Motors for more than three months.
March 15, between 6 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
8908 Old Temple Terrace Highway
Someone stole a 1978 flatbed trailer that had gas powered lawn equipment on it, Mishler said. A neighbor saw an older model red Ford F-150 extended cab pickup truck vehicle towing a trailer at approximately 3:15 p.m. The truck was headed north on Morris Bridge Road from Temple Terrace Highway.
March 16, unknown time
10900 block of Gillette Avenue
A picnic table was taken from a backyard, Mishler said.
March 16, 10:15 a.m.
200 block of South Riverhills Drive
A plumber arrived at a house to do work and found the rear French doors had been shattered, Mishler said.
March 16, 2:49 p.m.
12400 block of North 52nd Street
An air conditioning compressor was stolen, Mishler said.
Attempted Burglary Residence
March 18, 10:45 p.m.
600 block of South Riverhills Drive
Someone threw a brick through the window of a home office on the lower floor while there were people upstairs in a bedroom, Mishler said. The person fled the scene.
Sometime between March 17 and 19
11800 block of Skylake Place
Someone entered an unlocked 2004 Hyundai and took a men’s wallet and its contents, Mishler said. Credit cards were used at Walmart and an unknown gas station.
