Downtown redevelopment, the Temple Terrace marketing plan and the city’s budget were some of the topics that City Manager Kim Leinbach talked about Wednesday at the Greater Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce October Luncheon at the Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club.

Leinbach also announced that Code Compliance Officer Sal Scrozzo has been named the city’s Employee of the Year.

“He’s a great man,” Leinbach said of Scrozzo after the luncheon. “I’m glad he’s on staff.”

Other topics Leinbach addressed included annexation; business climate and opportunities; community partnerships; educational activities and support; and the new Citizen Volunteer Patrol Program.

Leinbach, who has served as city manager for 14 years, is traditionally the chamber’s October Luncheon speaker and gives an update on the “State of the City.” This was his last such presentation as he plans to retire in January.

“The best government is a government closest to you,” Leinbach said at the end of his presentation. “… Thank you for allowing me to serve as your city manager.”
