City Council Recognizes Police Officer Adam Lebovitz
The Temple Terrace police officer saved a stabbing victim in Ohio last fall.
The Temple Terrace City Council recognized Adam Lebovitz last week for receiving the 2011 “Lee McGehee” Police Officer of the Year award from the Florida Police Chief’s Association (FPCA).
Lebovitz, 26, won the award in July after he helped save the life of a stabbing victim while in Ohio for a wedding.
Temple Terrace Police Chief Kenneth Albano told the council that Lebovitz is the city's first state-recognized “officer of the year.”
The award honors exceptional achievement in any police endeavor, including extraordinary valor, crime prevention, investigative work, juvenile programs and more.
Lebovitz joined the Temple Terrace Police Department in January 2011 and is assigned to the department’s Patrol Division.
