Let's see, do I vote for the candidate that actually talked some numbers along with solutions or the candidate whose main answer was "We have to think out of the box."
That's an easy choice, cause thinking out of the box with no foresight or clear planning has got us into this mess in the first place. Chillura for Mayor.

Cheri Donohue. Never underestimate the role of soft skills in solving difficult problems. I'll take her style of leadership over testosterone fueled alpha male chest thumping any day.

The only candidate with a real plan to make Temple Terrace the Amazing City it can be is Frank Chillura, he has served our city for most of his adult life with one purpose to protect our city and make it Better for all who live work and play here, the choice is clear FRANK CHILLURA FOR MAYOR OF TEMPLE TERRACE.

Are you kidding? Frank is what Temple Terrace needs to get things back on track. Frank has not only "real" business experience but also local & county government experience. Cheri is a nice lady, but we don't need a cheerleader when our city is facing such critical issues.

I share Gov. Chris Christie's penchant for colorful language and straight talk, so I won't apologize for that. That straight talk cuts both ways, as we've learned with Christie's praise of the president's handling of the Sandy storm crisis. However, I will ask this one follow-up, those of you who are commenting from behind initials or an alias - my question to you is, why? Who are you and why are you hiding from taking responsibility for your opinions? That's just cowardice in my book.

Elizabeth, do you live in 2012? In this day and age anyone who uses their real name, in public, on the internet is taking extreme risks.
Contact local, state law and federal law enforcement to check on the crimes committed against people who expose personal information on the internet. From your name it is a simply process to obtain your address, phone number, place of employment, etc etc and other very personal information, you photo adds fuel to the fire.
Perhaps you would like some nut knocking on your door waving an axe at 4 in the morning because they disagree with you or showing up where you work, or calling your employer, but I think I'd like to avoid that. Stalking comes in all forms and is a serious problem.
There is also the issue of identity theft. Your name is now on here, you picture easily downloaded, on and on and on.
That is not very good "Thinking out of the Box."

Yes, you hear about that everyday. It happens all the time in Temple Terrace, you leave a comment on the Patch with your real name and someone shows up at your door with an ax. I'm sure I missed all the TT Police press releases warning its citizens not to comment on Patch with their true identity. Fortunately I hear that IP addresses are available to law enforcement to track down the anonymous commenters should something like that happen.

Yes Mrs. Leib, actually you do hear about maniacs in Temple Terrace. They finally arrested that one lunatic Charlie Adams, and there are many more out there, even in this sleepy crime free town. Good luck.

Donohue. She is committed to whatever project she undertakes, has great listening skills, brings people together for the mutual good and is a great role model. A mayor is a facilitator, one who brings about change with and through others, not in spite of them. Look at her record, it is amazing. All cities should be so fortunate to have candidates like these to chose from.

Nobody thinks Mrs Donahue isn't a good person. BUT I need someone who is gonna get the job done on this downtown fiasco. I don't want a listener I want a demander!! that would be Frank Chillura.

Unfortunately, Mr.Chillura himself and his supporters from Mayor Barford to Mayor Affronti are the very ones who have been promising re-development for 12 years or more. In that time we have had empty spaces where things have been taken down, including La Beacon Plaza, and only grass grows in these vacant areas now. We need a new approach under a new leader, Cheri Donohue.
Vote Romney-Ryan and DONOHUE

nuanain- you like other have fallen prey to a common misconception, Frank Chillura had NOTHING to do with the selection of Vlass or the current state of the redevelopment he wasn't even on council when the agreement was signed and has never even spoke to Vlass. If he had been involved I am confident it would not be in the state we see it today, it would be thriving. Once Frank Chillura becomes mayor I know you will finally see progress in the redevelopment, I am equally sure Cheri is NOT up to the task, Vote Chillura !

Dear FS, I just finished looking at the online TTRC minutes of Summer, 2001 and Mr. Chillura along with Mr. Affronti (with two others) are recorded as voting on a redevelopment policy. Mr. Chillura has been at the work of redevelopment for 11 of the 12 years I spoke about. He was, in fact, part of the failures that antedate Vlass.

not true, here was there when it started but the drafting of the agreement and the selection of the developer was NOT his doing, as I said had he been there it would have been a different contract with a different outcome, he is NOT responsible for Vlass nor the crappy contract, but I know he is the only candidate that can fix the mess that others created!!!

If you want to see who is responsible just go look at the foot of the mayor's statue in the redevelopment that is where the blame lies!

To FS: The fact that we have a mayor's statue, but no re-development is evidence of failure.
If Mr. Chillura was "there when it (sc. re-development) started," as you say, and had eight years of city council service implicates him in the failure. The mayor of the statue in the vacant lot endorses him.
My last words: get rid of the President who produced no national recovery for $4 trillion in DC. and get rid of the crew who produced no re-development for $26 million in Temple Terrace -- vote Romney-Ryan and DONOHUE. But have a fine Election Day whomever you choose

For all the Vlass haters out there, and for all of you who hate the thought of crappy section 8 wooden structured apartments, Donohue and sidekick Neale have both alluded to their support of what the developer wants, although Neale backed down at the last vote. That's their thinking out of the box, be forewarned.
They think more rentals are not a problem and the people that come with them are just fine. I for one, do not.
