Café Kili Voted No. 8 Best Coffee Shop in U.S.

Readers of The Huffington Post are voting for the Temple Terrace coffee shop in a nationwide poll.

From
Vistra Communications:

Temple Terrace-based coffee shop Café Kili is being recognized by The Huffington Post and its readers as the eighth best coffee shop in the country.

Readers are being asked to vote on who brews the best coffee in the nation. The list is featured as an infographic on the “Huffpost Taste” section of the publication.

Opening more than five years ago, Café Kili sells in-house roasted coffee, freshly brewed tea, smoothies and gourmet sandwiches. It’s known for fresh coffee, which is roasted on-site weekly or as needed to fill retail customer orders. Now, customers from across the nation can order freshly-roasted Café Kili coffee in its online store.

The owners’ commitment to excellence and their knowledge has gained Café Kili both local and national recognition. This year, the Kenyan-owned coffee shop was voted the place with the “Best Coffee” in Temple Terrace Patch’s Readers’ Choice poll. It was also voted Best Coffee House in Northeast Tampa by the Tampa Tribune for the past two years.

“We are humbled and honored to have received this type of recognition the past several years,” said Café Kili owner Rose Waruinge. “Earning this distinction encourages us to continue to provide excellent service to our customers. It is because of the loyalty of the Tampa Bay community that we have flourished into the third- place for many of our customer base.”

Café Kili is a dream come true for Waruinge, a professional nurse by trade. She relocated with her family to the Tampa Bay area over 10 years ago from Kenya. Rose is the daughter of a Kenyan coffee farmer, and that experience has provided her with a wealth of coffee experience and expertise. With the support of her husband, Patrick Gachau, and their sons, Café Kili opened their Temple Terrace location.

I've been going to Cafe Kili since they opened. Among their greatest attributes is the large coffee roaster that Patrick utilizes masterfully as he roasts unique coffee beans that he and Rose acquire from all over the world. When Patrick roasts one of his special blends, the pungent aroma permiates throughout Temple Terrace. They will even give you a tour. Although they serve the freshest coffee, special teas, fresh sandwiches, and provide great music, most people congregate to Cafe Kili to be part of Rose and Patrick's extented family. The warmth they provide with their fine sons, Anthony and Raphael is real and inviting. Cafe Kili is truly one of a kind.

Very warm and friendly atmosphere. The coffee is alway brewed to perfection. I love giving the freshly ground coffee as gifts to friends and watch their eyes light up! Rose and Patrick have created the perfect place to relax, to have group gatherings, and enjoy live entertainment. They are wonderfully supportive of their Temple Terrace and Tampa Bay community. Congratulations Rose and Patrick!
