Best of 2012: Council Denies Redevelopment Proposal
We’re reviewing 2012 by remembering our favorite stories from each month of the year. In March, the Temple Terrace City Council voted 4-1 to deny a downtown redevelopment plan.
As 2012 comes to a close, Temple Terrace Patch is taking a look back at the year that was.
In March, the Temple Terrace City Council denied a plan by downtown redevelopment developer Vlass Temple Terrace and asked Vlass to come back with a revision.
Vlass was asking for an estimated 25 waivers in its plan to build a 214-unit residence on the northeast corner of the site with no retail included in the facility. Council members voted 4-1 to deny changes to the master development agreement that Vlass was asking for. Then-councilwoman Mary Jane Neale cast the dissenting vote.

And pretty much nothing has been done since. Definitely the highlight of the year, highlighting the incompetence involved.
