Beef 'O' Brady's Opens in Temple Terrace
The new restaurant at 9311 N. 56th St. celebrated its ribbon cutting March 5.
The new Beef 'O' Brady's restaurant, located in the old Blockbuster Video store on 56th Street, celebrated its opening with a Greater Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting March 5.
"This is going to be a very successful location," predicted Chris Elliot, chief executive officer of the restaurant chain.
He called the location a "Beef's 2.0," explaining it's a prototype for the chain, which is trying to cater more to families. There's a seating area for families away from the bar, small TVs at each table, a game room, a soda fountain that provides hundreds of flavor combinations, and the newest menu item—pizza.
"We will bring particular franchisees and investors here to show what the future of Beef 'O' Brady's looks like," Elliot said.
He said the chain decided to open the Temple Terrace restaurant because there were no other Beef's in the immediate area. Restaurant executives first looked at the downtown redevelopment area as a possible location. However, Elliot said the restaurant was offered a spot "way off the road" at the back of the developer's proposed food village at the southern end of the site. Beef's execs preferred a location where the restaurant could be seen from 56th Street.
"We love these Blockbuster locations," Elliot said.

I know what you mean, Cyndi - the parking lot is easy to get into but getting out is another story. Can only go northbound on 56th Street and NO U Turns anyway

Too bad the developer didn't have the foresight to welcome Beef O' Brady's into a prominent spot in the redevelopment.
