Veterans Day is always a special time at Lewis Elementary and today we held our annual Veterans Day program.  Our principal, Mrs. Tonelli, welcomed our visitors and student body, who came dressed with flag-themed hats and flags.  A presentation of the colors was led by our local Temple Terrace Boy Scouts and our student council president, Elise Banea, led everyone in the pledge of allegiance.  Our chorus, directed by music teachers Mr. Bickel and Ms. Miles, performed several songs to include the Star Spangled Banner and You’re a Grand ‘Ol Flag.  Each veteran was introduced and spoke a few words to our students.  Mrs. Tonelli explained Veterans Day and its importance to our community and country.  Afterwards, Veterans and their families were treated to breakfast and refreshments.
